Brake tire car retarder is a metal strip connected to the retarder’s main brake beams.
Brake tire is exposed to significant wear due to friction against the bandages passing through retarder wagons, so it is made removable for easy replacement with new one.
The retarder is a mechanism installed in the head of the break-up yard. It is used for car braking and as a stop in the required place during the downward journey.
